Event Description

Build confidence, engagement and aspirations while sharing your story over lunch. Help Good Shepherd Australia and New Zealand achieve our vision that all women, girls and families are safe, well, strong and connected. Multiple studies in Australia show a clear and unacceptable link between socio-economic status and educational outcomes. One in three children in our most disadvantaged communities start school developmentally vulnerable - and they continue to fall behind. Good Shepherd Australia and New Zealand, alongside the Department of Education, is working to change this.

Our Learning through Lunch program is a unique and rewarding opportunity for adult volunteers to showcase career or study pathways, with the aim to build student engagement and confidence. For students, sitting down to a fine dining lunch and being served a meal with an adult mentor is an experience many will never forget. The students feel important and valued, enjoying a unique experience and engaging in conversations about their future study or career pathways. This is not only an opportunity for them to think about who they may become as an adult, but to also be treated as one.

We are all co-responsible for protecting children and young people’s right to safety and well-being. We know children have a right to be kept safe at all times, Good Shepherd Australia and New Zealand has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of child abuse.

Update your current event.

Use this form to update an existing event through the LinkUp Careers platform. Once submitted, your event will be re-published to the site.

To complete your submission, you’ll need to update the details below, ensure to re-upload a hero image, optionally - you can attach any relevant files (such as a PDF flyer as well as a company logo).

Event Submission Form

Important:
All Form elements are 'required' except where noted.

Event Basics

Provide the core details that will appear on the event listing and detail page.
Enter the full name of your event. This will appear as the main title on the listing and event detail page.
Use this to provide extra context beneath the event title — such as the name of the presenting organisation, initiative, or program. It supports the title and adds clarity, but it's entirely optional.
Write a short overview that captures the purpose and tone of your event. This summary appears in event cards and list views, helping users quickly understand what’s on offer.
Important:
Ensure you use line breaks (press Enter) to assist readability. Avoid writing one long block of text.
What you can do: Use line breaks to create short paragraphs. Write in plain text.
What you can’t do: No bullet points, bold, italics, or numbered lists — this field does not support rich text formatting.
Provide a detailed overview of your event for potential Role Models. Describe what students will experience, the types of role models or workshops included, and the outcomes you hope to achieve. Mention relevant context, like the theme of the event or how it fits into your curriculum.
Select all formats that apply. For example, if your event takes place at a school but you're open to having a Role Model join remotely (e.g. via Zoom or Teams), you can select both Virtual and In-Person. This helps potential Role Models understand how they can participate and whether physical attendance is expected.
Important:
Select up to 5 'Event Category Tags' to help users better understand the themes of your event.
If you're unsure what tags you selected previously, click the "View Current Event" button at the top of this page to review them.
Note: If you have previously added 'tags' you can safely ignore this component – your existing 'tags' will be used.
Important:
You MUST re-upload an 'Event Image'. You can re-upload the same image you previously used or a new image.
