Event Description

We invite you to bring your students to the Big Build Immersion Day, a one-day event at the Rail Academy in Newport. This event is aimed to bring awareness to the career opportunities within Victoria’s Big Build. Tailored for students in Years 8 to 11, the day offers a chance to experience a real-world training environment. Students will participate in hands-on activities and explore diverse career paths, including track work, station management, and safety operations. They’ll also hear from industry experts, gaining insights into future career prospects. Students will hear from industry professionals about their personal career journeys, get a close-up look at the role safety plays within Victoria's Big Build and gain a unique insight into the diverse and interesting work available in the sector. Date – 19th May, 2026 Time – 9:45am – 2:15pm (TBC) Location – Rail Academy Newport This is a great immersive experience for students and teachers to learn about the opportunities in rail, transport, and infrastructure projects currently underway in Victoria. RSVP your school by selecting one ticket per school group. During the checkout process, you will be able to include how many students you're bringing in the notes section. You don't need a ticket for each student attending. Please note: Schools will need to have a bus to attend the location as the Rail Academy Newport is not accessible by public transport or walking.
